Grid storage is in its infancy with expected annual growth rates of 25% over the next 10 years. Currently, there is no inventory of electricity and storage is key to the financial viability of renewable energy. In order to reach the alternative energy mandate of 20% by 2030, ARPA estimates that $200B+ will need to be invested in grid storage technologies for load shifting of renewable generation. ZAI is focused on grid storage for energy load shifting of wind farm developments.
Designed for utility-scale installation, the EJS series of redox batteries generates consistent high-power output for extended periods of time. All of this is achieved with high levels of efficiency at costs lower than existing technologies. By using uniquely safe redox technology, simple and cost effective storage systems are available for as low as $150 per KW-Hr. All chemicals used are non-toxic, sewerable. Temperature control is achieved using forced-air temperature management.
